our services

Our patients are our main priority! Everyone meets with our doctors one-on-one and has plenty of time to make sure their health needs are met. At your first visit, a full extensive initial exam is performed to determine if chiropractic care is beneficial for you. Then a personalized care plan is created based on your symptoms and medical history. Our doctors will answer all your questions, as well as educate you on your body and how your specific care plan will help you heal!

At ANH Wellness, we are able to help maintain your entire family's wellness from birth to adulthood.

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. As Chiropractors, we are able to determine how these dysfunctions can affect our current health. It is a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment! In addition to broad diagnostic skills, Chiropractors are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises and provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle assistance. Here at ANH Wellness, we have a very gentle approach. We like to make sure our patients are educated and fully understand how their individualized care plan specific for their needs is going to help them heal and function properly. Patient education is a very important part of our practice. We also include myofascial work into most of our treatments if it's appropriate. Increasing blood flow and nerve flow is important to help the body function optimally.

With different modalities at ANH Wellness – we are able to restore joint mobility in a way that is more comfortable for the patient that still provides a therapeutic healing response!

Imagine sitting in the same position for months – you may get uncomfortable, right? This often happens with infants after labor due to the position in the womb, as well as the stress on they cranial bones and neck during the birthing process. The goal of treatment is to restore movement to the joints and tissue, and to assist the body into the most biomechanically beneficial position, thus allowing for optimal development and growth. The stress and irritation is reduced on the central nervous system, restoring the body's ability to communicate, which allows for a better and faster healing process! Chiropractic treatment for infants and children is different from a regular chiropractic adjustment – oftentimes the joints are mobilized with vibration and soft tissue massage.

Our approach is a very gentle one. Many parents are nervous about chiropractic for their kids, but it's truly amazing and offers incredible benefits. Babies and kiddos respond quickly and it can provide parents with relief to finally have an explanation for their concerns!

Seeing a chiropractor can be intimidating, especially during pregnancy. Let us ease some of those nerves by explaining what to expect! We take a very gentle approach to chiropractic care and fully explain each step of the Webster Technique, which is a chiropractic technique used during pregnancy to help promote optimal pelvic function. There are specific muscles and ligaments known to become tense during pregnancy. Webster Technique provides chiropractors with a gentle and effective way to restore pelvic function, allowing the associated muscles and ligaments to relax and be in the most optimal position for the baby’s growth and delivery. We like to make sure the patient is completely comfortable for the entire treatment, so you'll have a private treatment room to ensure privacy and effectiveness in remaining relaxed and stress-free!

questions about insurance?

ANH Wellness Chiropractic PLLC currently is in-network with Excellus BCBS insurance.

Unfortunately, they do not cover wellness visits. Please note that once your care plan is finished, your insurance will not cover maintenance visits. We are no longer in contract with any other insurance companies. However, patients requesting to utilize your medical benefits will receive a detailed bill of services that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Patients are allowed to use flex spending or their health savings account (HSA) to pay for their visit costs.

Some health insurance plans don’t cover maintenance chiropractic care because many health insurance companies don’t see maintenance care as medically necessary. Why don’t they consider it medically necessary? That’s a question only insurers can address. They likely prefer to pay for treatments that help people recover from an illness, injury, or other situation. They don’t want to pay for treatments after someone hits a plateau and stops showing signs of improvement. That’s a common reason why few health plans cover maintenance chiropractic care. Don’t assume that’s true of your plan, though. Before you schedule anything, review your plan and see if it says anything about chiropractor visits. If it doesn’t, contact the insurance company and ask for clarity. And don’t just ask if your policy covers this type of care,  but when how much, and for how long as well.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Is chiropractic treatment safe?

We care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. We're especially well known for our expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain, and headaches using highly skilled manipulations or chiropractic adjustments. We also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, which includes the muscles, ligaments, and joints. These painful conditions may involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant from the region of injury. In addition, chiropractors offer advice to patients on diet, nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest nondrug, noninvasive forms of health care available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some form of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

Is chiropractic treatment appropriate for children?

Does chiropractic treatment require an MD referral?

A referral is usually not needed to see a doctor of chiropractic; however, your health plan may have specific referral requirements. You may want to contact your employer’s human resources department—or the insurance plan directly—to find out if there are referral requirements. Most plans allow you to just call and schedule an appointment with your chiropractor of choice.

Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care and we are highly specialized in pediatrics. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness, or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. In the case of children, it is very gentle.

How is a chiropractic adjustment performed?

Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a manual procedure that utilizes the highly refined skills developed during the doctor of chiropractic’s intensive years of chiropractic education. The chiropractic physician typically uses his or her hands or an instrument to manipulate the joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps resolve joint inflammation and reduces the patient's pain. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The chiropractor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.

Can I see a chiropractor if I am pregnant?

Many pregnant women find that chiropractic adjustments improve the pregnancy experience and make delivery easier. Adjustments are adapted to accommodate the stage of pregnancy and the unique needs of each patient. Chiropractors are trained in special techniques for adjusting pregnant women. Because of the inability to take medication for pain, the natural approaches of chiropractic are the logical choice for pregnant women. More and more, obstetricians are referring to chiropractors due to the effectiveness of spinal adjustments for pain relief. Also, techniques designed to naturally turn a Breech baby are safe and effective. Lastly, women under chiropractic care have significantly faster delivery than those who are not.

Why do adjustments make a popping sound?

Is chiropractic treatment ongoing?

The hands-on nature of chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs to be in his or her office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks). A chiropractor may provide acute, chronic, and/or preventive care thus making a certain number of visits sometimes necessary. Your doctor of chiropractic should tell you the extent of treatment recommended and how long you can expect it to last.

Can I see a chiropractor if I had back surgery?

Unfortunately, research shows that up to one-half of those who have spinal surgery report a relapse of their original symptoms within months or years. This common occurrence is known as "Failed Back Surgery Syndrome," and usually results in the necessity of additional procedures. Chiropractic care may prevent repetitive surgeries, or better yet, if used initially, may help avoid surgery in the first place.

Are all patients adjusted the same way?

Each patient’s care is unique and therefore customized to meet their specific condition and needs. Your chiropractor will modify adjustments based on your size, weight, age, and health condition.

Actually, adjustments do not always produce a sound. However, some techniques do create a "popping" sound. This audible release is the result of gas shifting in the joint; similar to the noise created by "cracking" your knuckles. This sound is painless and causes no harm. A chiropractic adjustment does not affect the bones of either side of a joint; it affects the connective tissue that holds the joint together.
